The Oxford Greyhound Walks Group first walk of the year will take place on Sunday 31st March setting off at 11.00 a.m. the Walk will be along the Thames Path and around the Abbey Gardens in Abingdon finishing with a drink in the garden at the Nag's Head pub for those that wish (weather permitting)

We'll meet from 10.45.a.m. in the Public Car Park just south of Abingdon Bridge (A415) the nearest post code for Satnavs is the Nag's Head OX14 3HX   The Car Park is just a few yards from there.  Parking is free for 2 hours but you have to press the yellow button on the ticket machine to get a free ticket.   Up to three hours is £1.50 but if you're not sure if you want to stay for a drink afterwards the Car Park is close enough to nip back and buy another ticket

The Walk is flat and will probably take around 1 - 1 1/2 hours.    There are toilets and dog waste bins en route

We will follow our usual rules:

  • Greyhounds - Lurchers and other Sighthounds only please
  • Dogs must be kept on lead and under proper control at all times throughout the Walk and Muzzled if necessary
  • Dogs which feel more comfortable with a little extra space around them are kindly asked to wear a yellow "I need space" Bandana to indicate this to others (Bandanas are available to borrow if needed)
  • All Owners take full responsibility for their own dogs and walk at their own risk.   If children are walking dogs parents are kindly asked to supervise at all times
  • All poop must be scooped and disposed of responsibly
  • Please be considerate of other walkers at all times
