Greyhound Trust appoints new Ambassador

22 February 2017

The Greyhound Trust are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Ambassador, Estée Lalonde.

Estée is the founder and creator of incredibly successful YouTube Channel, Estée Lalonde, on which she delights her devoted following with her honest, entertaining posts, many of which feature her own beloved greyhound, Reggie. Estée Lalonde is one of the stand-out voices of the digital generation and has attracted a global audience of millions.

The 26 year old YouTube star has lent her support to the Greyhound Trust, in a desperate bid to try and help find new owners for hundreds of homeless dogs.

The Greyhound Trust is a national charity that helps find loving homes for greyhounds when their racing days are over. The Trust has over fifty volunteer-led branches across the country who help to find homes for over four thousand greyhounds each year. With Estée’s support, the Trust hopes to support the thousands more that are still in need of help.

Since Estée first started blogging in 2010, she has amassed more than 96 million views on YouTube and one million followers across her Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages. More recently, Estée published her very first book, Bloom.

Estée is from a small town in Canada, but has lived in the UK for nearly a decade, along with her boyfriend Aslan and her very own retired greyhound, Reggie who she adopted back in 2013.

The YouTube sensation and dog lover is thrilled to become the latest patron of the Greyhound Trust. Estée urges anyone who is considering adopting a dog to go for a greyhound!

"I'm so excited to become an ambassador for the Greyhound Trust because I want as many people out there to know the joy of giving a retired greyhound a forever home.”

“Adopting our wonderful greyhound, Reggie Greyhound Reggie has changed my life. Seeing him transform from a slightly nervous kennel dog to a happy, confident member of our family, has been beautiful to witness."

“Not only has he come out of his shell, but he has given us so much in return by living up to the Greyhound stereotype of a love sponge!  Greyhounds make such lovely pets because they are gentle, loving and contrary to popular belief they love to laze around all day with you."

Lisa Morris-Tomkins, Chief executive of the Trust says: “I am thrilled that Estee has agreed to be a Greyhound Trust ambassador, with her influence, I am confident that we can find more homes for retired greyhounds. Estee is committed to helping us speak to a whole group of people that may never have considered homing a greyhound, and I thank her on behalf of all the homeless greyhounds waiting for a home.”
