Spotlight on Greyhound Trust Cumbria
26 January 2021Cumbria has a small branch of the Greyhound Trust located in Workington, just on the edge of the Lake District. From here we home our greyhounds all over Cumbria and South Scotland, homing to locations as varied as city centres to remote farms in the middle of nowhere. It’s a fantastic place to be as we have lots of space and of course beautiful fresh air to enjoy.
We have a small team here which is led by Tom, who originally started the branch, and Margaret who is our lead volunteer and does fantastic work with the dogs we have in.
There are usually around 10-12 greyhounds looking for homes at any one time, and you can view an up to date list of the greyhounds available for adoption via the homing page. Today we have three lovely hounds currently in our care:
Romeo Valentino
He seems to get overlooked a little as he is on the larger size at 35 kilos but he’s a beautiful looking dog who would thrive in a home where he’s the only pet and would get lots of walking.
Romeo Embargo
One of our longest residents, he has the silkiest of black coats and a beautiful, friendly nature. He is very accepting of everything and gets along brilliantly with children and other dogs.
Shazababbaroo
Shaza has only recently come into the kennel and is newly available. She is a lovely light brindle colour with amazing markings and will make someone a great pet, she walks very well on the lead and loves attention and treats.
If you think you could provide a loving home to any of the greyhounds listed above, please get in touch with the Cumbria Branch on 07974384901 or email us at cumbria@greyhoundtrust.org.uk
