    Professor Steven Dean


    Steve is a Veterinary Surgeon. He retired from the Civil Service in 2011 where he was the CEO of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate. Previous to this he had been a Director in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry and his professional career also included roles in veterinary practice, medicines development and veterinary education. He was a Board member for the Kennel Club and served as Chairman for four years. He remains a Trustee of the Kennel Club Charitable Trust.

    Jackie is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) with 30 year’s experience of working in public sector organisations within local government and the NHS. Jackie joined the Greyhound Trust in 2016 as she has a keen interest in everything to do with greyhounds. She has an ex racer Venus (Airforce Venus) at home.

    Tony has recently retired as principal partner in a large mixed practice. During his early years he worked with all animals great and small to his latter years where he specialised in Equines, Reindeer and Greyhounds. Although he has retired from the partnership he continues to work part time at the Horse Trust and covers Greyhound meetings at Swindon, Monmore and Perry Barr when required. Finally he provides veterinary care for the largest Reindeer farm in England.

    Mel has recently exited the Corporate world to pursue a portfolio career of passion projects of which animal welfare is one. She is a PR and Marketing specialist with over 20 years experience working with some of the largest brands across the UK and Globally, culminating in her role as Head of Marketing and Brand at EDF Energy. Mel is a experienced Board level leader, Non-Executive Director and supporter of gender equality as evidenced in her Ambassadorship for Women on Boards. Mel’s marketing experience will help steer the Trust as it looks to build greater brand awareness and in doing so secure new supporters

    George Lee


    George Lee (known as Stan) is a well-qualified finance professional with a lifetime of experience in leadership positions with household names in the commercial, service and charitable sectors. He combines Financial Management with Investment experience including service as chairman of an investment committee with AUM in excess of £260m. A greyhound lover all his life, he has been involved with the breed both as the owner of a racing dog, and a much loved retired racer, Rex.

    Mandy has recently exited the corporate world to take a career break after 23 years with Procter & Gamble in the consumer goods industry. Mandy’s work history includes business and organisational leadership of large multi-functional teams locally and internationally, such as her previous capacity as Managing Director Nordic Market Operations and Commercial Director for sales & brand building for several iconic global brands. Mandy is an experienced board member and has previously acted as a non-executive director whilst working abroad. Her commitment to animal welfare and conservation interests has driven Mandy’s choices to want to contribute in a professional capacity to the work of Greyhound Trust.

    Raymond Harding


    Ray is a recently retired Local Authority Chief Executive (Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk 2005 – 2019). Currently Vice Chair of Witchford Village College and Governor for West Anglia College. Ray also gifts his time at Greyhound Trust Mildenhall, Lendwith Care, Witchford Playing Fields Association and Ely Runners. In his spare time, Ray enjoys running, allotmenteering, cycling and Nordic walking.
